Why spend money to be stressed?

Walt Disney World is a magical place. I have had a long term addiction to Disney World and have visited more than 80 times over the years and stayed in most of the resorts. My favorite resort is Fort Wilderness Campground, it is relaxing and offers an experience unlike any of the other resorts.

One of the things I enjoy while visiting is people watching. I enjoy seeing families and children having fun and taking in the “Magic” that is Disney.

The other side of that, is there is a large percentage of people you see where it is obvious that they are HIGHLY stressed and completely on each others nerves. Sometimes, this is because they are overwhelmed or possibly they did not go into the trip or the park with a good plan on what they wanted to do and when they wanted to do it.

A vacation is NOT supposed to be stressful and Disney (or any other trip) can be VERY expensive. Preplanning before the trip and at the beginning of each day can go a long way into keeping the the day fun and exciting.

When things seem to go off track or tensions and tempers start to flare, I recommend:

  • Stop for a minute and remember that you are on “Vacation”.
  • Sit down and take a break.
  • Go in a different direction; try another area, spot, ride, anything to change the tone.
  • Pull everyone together and get input on what will be fun, different, less stressful and get everyone back into stress free vacation mode.
